Bracing

Thats me putting sticks in the press. Its very important that you you know your press, have it well adjusted and that you know your sticks as well. This is a traditional Spanish press and I use flatsawn beech for the sticks.
The trick is that you put enough pressure on the different parts of the bracing system and its important that you dont overdo it. The you can see the bracing of the soundboard on the other side of the soundboard and you often end up sanding to much off where the braces are. Another quiet and relaxing job. Good for some background music.

the heel

here you have the heel of number 92. Its only raw sanded. The final sanding will be after the assembly.

Here´s a part of the building where I don things my own way. I use a normal carving knife to make the heel. I like carving. It feels good and I can do it pretty fast. Its also nice and quiet so I can listen to music while I work.

What I play here is from one of Claude Worms books. There´s a Rosas (Alegrias in E?) where I learnt some parts years ago. I never really knew waht to do with this part. But I like it. I play it a lot slower than I would play Alegrias. The slow part is around 100bpm, whereas I play Alegrias around 140.
Escudero is from the 50th or 60th if I remember right and then it was normal to play most things with changes in pace. Just listen to Sabicas etc.
Here you have it with a full speed intro and extro.
So what should I do. I cant play this 140bpm and I dont think it´ll be interesting musically wise anyways.

Here you have the first photos of my new build.
From below, 91, going to Holland, a Flamenca blanca, swiss spruce and mediterranean cypress. Next, number 92, going to Reunion Island, another flamenca blanca with German spruce soundboard and med. cypress back and sides. And on the top, number 93, going to England, a Hybrid guitar, Cedar soundboard and med. cypress.

Here you have a short video of me playing the same intro por solea on two different guitars. Number 1 is a Indian Rosewood negra, no soundport. Number two is a Peghead blanca with a soundport.
What they have in common is the same bracing system and two very similar soundboards. Besides that, they are very “green”. They´ve just had Strings on for a short while, both have been played a max. of some 30 - 40 minuts and they are both sold, packed and ready to be shipped.
This is what my clients get. In my ears, they both sound very well, are very balanced, muy flamencas and are very open sounding already
